Basic Teeth Cleaning
The basis of sound dental care is routine cleaning and maintenance. We customize cleanings on the basis of your periodontal, (gums and bone), health. We utilize medicated gels along with prescription mouth rinses in problem areas if necessary. Ultrasonic scalers are sometimes used to make the procedure more comfortable and effective as well. We use a hi-tech polishing brightener to remove stains and dental plaque while simultaneously polishing tooth surfaces. Regular dental check-ups and x-rays help us help you stay healthy!
Scaling & Root Planning (Deep Cleaning)
A chronic infection caused by an accumulation of plaque around the gum line, periodontal or gum disease, can lead to everything from persistent bad breath to far more serious problems like the loss of your teeth. It can even affect your overall health and well-being, leaving you vulnerable to diabetes and heart disease. If periodontal disease is detected and diagnosed in its initial stages, we can remove any buildup above and below your gum line in a process known as scaling. However, if the disease has progressed to the point where more of your teeth’s roots are exposed, root planing may be called for which will require for you to get numbed up.
Sealants
Sealants can be used as part of a child's total preventive dental care. Dental sealants are thin plastic coatings which are applied to the chewing surfaces of the molars (back teeth). Most tooth decay in children and teens occurs in these surfaces. Sealants cover those chewing surfaces to preserve healthy tooth structure. It's a procedure as easy as brushing your teeth!
